What It Measures

The Wet Road Index estimates surface water presence on roadways using a combination of meteorological variables such as precipitation, temperature, and evaporation rates.

• Parameter: WetRoadIndex

• Units: Estimated surface water depth in millimeters (mm)

Use Cases

• Real-time routing optimization for delivery fleets

How to Access

The Wet Road Index is available through both the Tomorrow.io Weather API and the Tomorrow.io platform:

API Access

• Review the Wet Road Index parameter documentation.

• Authenticate with your Tomorrow.io API key

• Query the WetRoadIndex field in supported endpoints (Weather Timelines)

• Integrate values into your operational workflows or platforms

Platform Access

• Available in the Trends tab and Insights engine

• Not available as a visual tile on the Map View
