The Lightning Nowcast layer provides a short-term forecast of lightning strike probability over the next hour. It enables proactive decision-making across various weather-sensitive operations by offering high-resolution, location-specific lightning risk information.

How to Use the Lightning Nowcast Layer

  1. Open the map in the Tomorrow.io platform
  2. Select the Lightning icon in the map layer panel
  3. Enable the Lightning Nowcast toggle
  4. Use the timeline slider to view forecasted lightning probability up to 1 hour ahead

If desired, set up Insight Rules using lightning probability thresholds to trigger operational alerts.
