Animating Weather Parameters in the Map View ("Play" Funciton)

The Play feature allows you to visualize weather trends over time by animating parameters on the map. This functionality helps track movement, changes in intensity, and evolving conditions—providing valuable insights for operational decision-making.

How to Use the Play Feature

1. Select "Now" on the timeline.
2. Click on the parameter you want to track.
3. If the parameter supports animation, a Play button will appear.
4. Click Play to activate the animation.
   • You can adjust the timeline toggles to move back 6 hours and forward 6 hours.
5. After a short loading period, the layer will animate on the screen in a loop for the selected time range.

Parameters That Support the Play Feature

Most weather parameters support animation with the Play button.

Exceptions (No Play Button Available):

• Hail
• Wind Direction (use the separate Dynamic Wind icon instead)
• NWS Weather Type
