Tomorrow.io’s platform offers comprehensive air quality monitoring through a range of environmental parameters. These metrics help organizations assess health risks, meet compliance standards, and plan accordingly in response to changing air conditions.

🔒 This is a premium feature. To request access or learn more, please contact your Tomorrow.io Account Team or sales@tomorrow.io.

Key Parameters

Parameter Description
AQI (EPA) Air Quality Index based on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. Reflects health implications of prolonged exposure to air pollutants.
AQI (China) Air Quality Index according to China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) guidelines. Useful for regions within or near China.
Particulate Matter PM2.5 Concentration of airborne particles with diameters less than 2.5 micrometers. These fine particles can enter deep into the lungs and bloodstream.
Particulate Matter PM10 Measures larger airborne particles with diameters under 10 micrometers. These pose respiratory and cardiovascular risks.

Forecasted Pollutant Levels

In addition to AQI values, Tomorrow.io provides forecasts for individual pollutants that significantly impact air quality:

  • Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) – Commonly produced by vehicle emissions and industrial sources
  • Ozone (O₃) – Created by chemical reactions between sunlight and pollutants like NOx
  • Sulfur Dioxide (SO₂) – Emitted from burning fossil fuels, especially in power generation
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) – A colorless, odorless gas harmful when inhaled; largely from vehicles and equipment
