Tomorrow.io’s Flood Index provides localized flood risk forecasting using a combination of global and regional hydrological models. This tool supports preparedness and planning for fluvial (river), pluvial (rainfall-based), and streamflow-driven flooding.

🔒 This is a premium feature. For access, contact your Tomorrow.io Account Team or sales@tomorrow.io.

Overview

Tomorrow.io employs hourly model updates and regionalized forecasting to track flood conditions across global river networks. These models integrate:

  • Real-world observations
  • Historical return period analysis (e.g., 10, 50, 100, 500, 5000 years)
  • Proprietary statistical and physical models
  • Continuous refinement based on incoming data

⚠️ This index does not cover coastal or storm surge flooding, including areas near bays, estuaries, and tidal bodies of water.
